Biography
My central research theme is Insect Molecular Ecology and Evolution. I study the ecology and evolution of insects using molecular techniques. My aim is to understand the processes underlying ecological and evolutionary change in this important group of organisms.
Given the presence of insects in nearly all habitats on Earth and the large impact that insects and humans have on each other, my research has both fundamental and applied aspects, which amounts to in four differentiated research lines:
- the genetics of parasitoids;
- genetic variation in wild and managed Hymenoptera populations;
- the genetics of biocontrol;
- the genetics of insects for food and feed;
