Team Manager Sustainable Soil Use

Biography

Biography

After finishing my MSc degree in soil science at Wageningen University, I started working at Alterra, first as a researcher in land evaluation, later as a researcher in the field of modelling the effects of sulphur and nitrogen deposition on forest soils in Europe. I obtained my PhD on the latter research in 2009. In addition to work on the development and application of models, I was also responsible for the Pan European database of the Forest Intensive Monitoring (ICP Level II) program. I have been head of the team Sustainable Soil Management within Wageningen Environmental Research for quite some time now. In addition, I am currently coordinating the nitrogen research within WENR that is being carried out for the evaluation of emission reduction measures within the Nitrogen Reduction and Nature Improvement Act.
