Biography

Biography

Mark Sturme is a scientist and project leader at Wageningen Food Safety Research. He received both his MSc in Biology and his PhD in Microbiology from Wageningen University. Since then he has occupied research positions abroad at the Department of Microbiology at University College Cork (Ireland) and the Microbiology and Infection Research Domain at the University of Minho (Portugal). At Wageningen University and Research he has been a project leader and scientist at the Bioprocess Engineering group of Wageningen University and subsequently at Wageningen Food & Biobased Research. He is experienced in molecular microbiology, microbial biotechnology and fermentation and has worked on lactic acid bacteria, yeast, fungi and microalgae.
