Assistant professor - modelling and control of greenhouse systems

Biography

Biography

I am a mathematician with a strong interest in greenhouse technology and plant biology. My current research focuses on developing artificial intelligence solutions to support the ongoing transition of controlled environment agriculture (e.g. greenhouses, vertical farms) guided by circularity, biological principles, and renewable energy.

My expertise lies in the modeling and control of greenhouses and vertical farms. This includes:

  1. developing models of plant production systems that integrate energy, climate, light, and crop responses;
  2. designing algorithms for optimal management of crops, energy, and climate; and
  3. applying statistical methods for data-driven learning and optimization under uncertainty—such as variability in models, weather, or energy prices.
