Biography

Senior researcher at Wageningen Economic Research, with 25 years of experience in applied socio-economic research in West and East Africa and SE-Asia. She is an expert in participatory and qualitative data collection methods and the design, monitoring and facilitation of multi-stakeholder learning processes. Her fields of expertise includes agricultural innovation, value chain development, community-based natural resource management and land-use planning, governance, gender and inclusion. Keenly interested in stakeholder engagement and capacity strengthening for the sustainable and inclusive development of the agriculture, forestry and aquaculture sectors.

In recent years she focuses more strongly on transferring her international research experience and expertise through academic advice to student groups in the context of Academic Consultancy Training and she acts in the role as project leader with the Science Shop at Wageningen UR. She currently also works on policy support projects and assessments related to stakeholder engagement in area based transition processes towards rural sustainability and organizational development to support societal initiatives for nature and biodiversity in the Netherlands.
