Biography

Biography

My academic journey began with a BSc in Future Planet Studies, specializing in the Earth Sciences, at the University of Amsterdam. Building upon that foundation, I pursued a dual master's degree in Aquaculture & Marine Resource Management and Forest & Nature Conservation, with a focus on ecology, graduating with distinction.

As a researcher, my work is characterized by a strong emphasis on interdisciplinary approaches, complexity, remote sensing, and modeling. Throughout my research, I have delved into the intricate dynamics that arise when natural and anthropogenic systems intersect. I am particularly intrigued by the profound questions that these interactions pose and strive to communicate my findings effectively by collaborating with the arts.

Currently, I am engaged in the EU WaterLANDS project for the majority of my PhD studies. Within this project, I am investigating the necessary adaptations and mitigations of anthropogenic pressures on ecosystems located at the interface of aquatic and terrestrial realms. By understanding these dynamics, we can better equip these systems to withstand the impacts of climate change.
