F (Fernando) Gabriel Garcia Teruel, MSc
Biography
I am a PhD candidate studying the Alto-Atoyac Basin in the states of Puebla and Tlaxcala, Mexico, through the lenses of Political Ecology and the Philosophy of Liberation. My research aims to understand the different ontologies, epistemologies, conflicts, and contradictions surrounding the Atoyac River and the Basin’s socio-technical-ecological system. This project adopts an inter- and trans- disciplinary approach, involving active engagement with initiatives and social movements advocating for the Commons and Water Justice in the region and internationally.
Previously, I have worked on topics related to systems thinking, decolonisation, African philosophy, agriculture, and philosophy of technology. I hold a master’s degree in Biosystems Engineering (WUR) and a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering (Ibero Puebla).
