Biography

Gerlinde van Vilsteren's academic background is in Food Technology, which she studied at Wageningen University. She then worked as a researcher at ATO-DLO (now WUR-FBR), subsequently becoming a programme manager of WUR-wide projects. Following a period outside of WUR, during which she served as Director of the Groene Kennis Coöperatie and of the Center Biobased Economy, she returned to WUR to work at the intersection of research, education and valorisation. She is currently employed as a programme manager of WUR-wide programmes and as a team leader for Knowledge for Society within the department Co-creating Value and Impact. CVI assists researchers in leveraging their expertise to generate societal value. In other words, what measures can be implemented to ensure that the knowledge contained in a report is actually put into practice? Topics include knowledge dissemination, SME's, WUR Fast Track, (regional) public-private partnerships, public engagement, programme management, and business development.
