As expertise leader Postharvest Physiology in the Postharvest Technology group at Wageningen Food and Biobased Research Institute, I work on the exciting intersection of biology and technology. My personal drive is to generate practical impact with my work, both using state-of the art technologies and developments, as wel as using our knowledge to improve postharvest management in emerging economies.

Our mission is to sustainably feed the world, and I am convinced that optimising postharvest management of fruits and vegetables also helps to reduce climate change and biodiversity loss by minimising both food loss and waste as wel as energy use.
