ir.ing. NA (Niels) van der Linden

Niels is a PhD candidate for the chair groups Food Quality and Design (FQD) and Law (LAW). He has a background in Chemistry (HZ University of Applied Sciences), Environmental Sciences, and Food Safety (both Wageningen University), with majors in Analytical Chemistry, Environmental Policy and Food Law respectively.

Trying to combine these different disciplines, his PhD project focusses on the different conflicts between food safety and sustainability. For example chemical risks from the recycling of food contact materials, and gaps in food contact material legislation both on national and EU level. The research is part of the FOODSAFETY4EU project; an EU project that aims to design, develop and release a multi-stakeholder platform for the European Food Safety System.
