My project aims to study local climate effects of land restoration projects in Africa, such as changes in precipitation and land surface temperature, using satellite observations as well as atmospheric modelling. Hereby, I aim to develop guidelines for land restoration projects in order to maximize positive local climate effects and contribute to research combatting widespread land degradation in arid and semi-arid areas.
