Biography
Since 2023, I work for the team Sustainable Soil Management (Duurzaam Bodemgebruik) at Wageningen Environmental Research. As a soil and climate researcher, I investigate greenhouse gas emissions from agricultural soils. My main focus lies on carbon sequestration measures, their effectiveness, and the influence of these practices on other emissions, as well as soil nutrients. Other emissions include soil emissions which might increase after organic matter addition, such as nitrous oxide, as well as emissions resulting from management practices, e.g. from fuel consumption or fertilizer production. To assess effective GHG reduction from carbon practices, I combine field and lab experiments, observational studies, literature, and modelling.
