LAJ (Liesa) Celie, MSc

From a young age, I have been drawn to the sea, mesmerized by this magical marine ecosystem. This fascination led me to pursue a career in marine biology. Determined to follow my dream, I focused my studies on marine ecology, where my interest in sea turtles, their behaviour, and conservation grew. Currently, I am working on a PhD project with a focus on these topics within the Behavioural Ecology group at Wageningen University & Research. Within this project, we examine the functional consequences of hybridisation in sea turtles.  I conduct my research under the guidance of Dr. Lysanne Snijders and in cooperation with Dr. Mirte Bosse from the Animal Breeding and Genomics group.
