PhD candidate in animal ethics: working on advancing compassion for (non)human animals. I am working on a science-based intervention method to move consumers towards a more sustainable and ethical protein consumption by encouraging compassion for farmed animals and challenging coping strategies consumers apply to 'solve' the tension caused by the meat paradox ('I care about animals and do not want to harm them but I still want to eat meat'). The intervention method is based on Visual Thinking Strategies, a facilitation method used in museums and schools to create inclusive discussions.
