Biography

Biography

Maria Paula holds a degree in Forest Engineering and earned her MSc in Forest Science/Forest Management in 2021 from the Federal University of Viçosa (UFV), Brazil.

Her research with UFV’s Environmental Economics and Forest Management Group (GEEA) has addressed greenhouse-gas mitigation, forest restoration, silvopastoral systems, carbon sequestration in biomass and necromass, the structure and dynamics of tropical forests, and plant–animal interactions.

She is currently a PhD candidate with the Forest Ecology and Forest Management Group at Wageningen University & Research (WUR) and with GEEA at UFV. Her project investigates the relationships between a reintroduced population of a threatened bird species and forest regeneration in Brazil’s Atlantic Forest.
