N (Nicole) Ercoli, MSc
Biography
Nicole Ercoli is an Education and Research Assistant at the Farming Systems Ecology Group.
She holds a Bachelor's degree in Sociology and a Master's degree in Economics for Development from Sapienza University of Rome. She later pursued a second Master's in Organic Agriculture with specialization in Agroecology at Wageningen University & Research and ISARA Lyon, graduating in 2024.
Her work focuses on participatory approaches in research and education, particularly exploring how methods such as photovoice can serve as boundary objects.
She is passionate about integrating diverse knowledge systems and feminist theories into agroecological research and practice. Her interests lie in transdisciplinary and participatory approaches that bridge science and society, contributing to a more inclusive and collaborative knowledge production. She is passionate about decolonial studies and methodologies that challenge dominant epistemologies, advocating for the recognition and empowerment of marginalized voices in agricultural and ecological research. She is also interested in the role of social movements in agroecology, exploring how collective action and grassroots initiatives contribute to transformative food systems. Through critical thinking and reflexive practice, she aims to support just and sustainable alternatives beyond conventional frameworks.
