Biography
After studying Biology in Groningen (1984-1989) R. A. Weusthuis obtained his PhD in Microbial Biotechnology at the Delft University of Technology (1989-1994). Then he joined the WUR and headed the Bioconversion group (2004-2008). In 2007 he started working at the Wageningen University, and is since 2019 active as Professor Microbial Biotechnology in the chair group Bioprocess Engineering.
He is studying and teaching the microbial production of chemicals and biomass.
