My group "Carbon Cycle and Atmospheric Composition" investigates the rising levels of carbon dioxide in our atmosphere. We combine measurements of CO2 and its isotopic composition with powerful numerical models of weather, and climate. The carbon cycle of the Amazon rain forest, the high Arctic, but also of urban areas in Europe are part of our agenda.

Since 2013 I also hold the chair “Atmospheric Composition Modeling” at the University of Groningen's, Centre for Isotope Research. 

• Ministerie van Economische Zaken en Klimaat (1-4-2023/1-4-2027)
  De Wetenschappelijke klimaatraad voorziet het ministerie van EZK van gevraagd en ongevraagd advies over het te voeren lange-termijn klimaatbeleid.
• Rijksuniversiteit Groningen (1-6-2012/1-6-2032)
  Als honorair hoogleraar draag ik bij aan de onderzoeksagenda van het Centrum voor Isotopen onderzoek.
