RE (Roelof) Zwaan

Hello, I am Roelof Zwaan, an ecologist researching soil ecosystem services and biodiversity. I have always been fascinated by the diversity and complex interactions within our ecosphere. Respecting everything around me, I take the time to learn and understand. This is also reflected in my motto: I like to leave the world a little better than I found it.

Currently, I am studying soil ecosystem services, the role soil biodiversity plays in them and how we can integrate this knowledge into policy. Because an ecosystem service is a human concept and not a hard measurable fact, this topic is in a field of tension between expert knowledge, societal interests and the difficulty of expressing these facets objectively.

I am always interested in new challenges and collaborations to make a positive impact on the environment and nature. Let's create a more sustainable future together.
