Hi, my name is Shuhang Wang . I study cabbage root fly Delia radicum in Brassica crops. The fat larvae of the root flies feed on cabbage roots and can cause bad damages. I The project aims to look for resistance in wild Brassica accessions and prepare for its use in breeding programme for root-fly resistance cabbages.  After screening for resistance from wild Brassica accesisons, we look into the genetics of the resistance through QTL mapping We had a look into the metabolomics of these accessions. At the same time, we try to have better understanding of the root fly behavior/development below ground.
