S (Süeda) Hallaç, MSc
Biography
Süeda completed two bachelor’s degrees in Psychology and Psychological Counseling and Guidance at Yeditepe University in Istanbul in 2024. She then completed the MSc in Social, Health and Organisational Psychology (Social Influence track) at Utrecht University, graduating cum laude in 2025 with a GPA of 8.33. Her master’s thesis, “Choosing Through Fear: Trauma-Related Symptoms and Biased Decision-Making in Aversive Contexts”, examined how trauma-related symptoms influence decision-making under uncertainty and emotional stress, combining a modified two-armed bandit task with psychophysiological measures (skin conductance responses).
Süeda is currently a PhD candidate in the Marketing and Consumer Behaviour Group at Wageningen University. Her PhD project, “Perfectly imperfect: Stimulating consumer acceptance of imperfect products for a sustainable future,” investigates how consumers psychologically perceive and emotionally respond to product imperfections during purchase and consumption. Drawing on emotion research and consumer behaviour theory, her work develops emotion-based strategies that help consumers accept and continue using imperfect products. By doing so, the research aims to extend product lifetimes, reduce waste, and support a more sustainable and circular economy.
