Biography
I am a marine biologist specialised in marine ecology and population dynamics. As a PhD candidate at the Aquaculture and Fisheries group (AFI) my research focuses the population structure and dynamics of rays in the Greater North Sea, in particular Raja clavata (Thornback Ray) and Raja brachyura (Blonde Ray). I approach this by combining their catch data from fisheries and scientific survey with clues within their genome to provide insights into their population abundance, spatial distribution and connectivity.
My direct supervisor is dr. Jan Jaap Poos
