Spanish 4

Target group

Spanish 4 is for anyone who has taken 3 to 4 years of Spanish at middle school and has since been in contact with the Spanish language to some degree, whether through a course or spending some time in a Spanish-speaking country. This course is also intended for anyone who has completed our course Spanish 3. The maximum number of participants per group is 16.

Entry level: A2 (CEFR)
Level on completion: Halfway to B1 (CEFR)

Course content

After this course, you will be able to:

• hold simple conversations about familiar topics;
• understand the key information in simple texts;
• formulate your personal opinion in a simple way;
• write texts and emails about familiar topics.

What will the classes cover?

You will learn to speak more fluently and in greater detail about past experiences, desires, doubts, and future plans. You will practice giving instructions, discussing emotions and opinions with greater nuance, and describing more complex situations. In terms of grammar, you will learn to use the present subjunctive, the imperative, various types of connectors, formulating hypotheses, and the pluperfect indicative tense, among other things.

During the classes, only Spanish will be spoken. The emphasis is on speaking skills. Reading, listening, and writing skills will also be addressed. You will also learn more about Spanish culture.

Planning

This course includes 8 classes, one per week. Each class is 1 hour and 45 minutes. You should expect to spend 3 to 4 hours on homework each week.

Certification and exam

To receive a Wageningen in'to Languages certificate, a minimum attendance of 80% is required. A diagnostic test is optional.
