Diagnostics: Horse diseases

Diagnostics: Horse

Wageningen Bioveterinary Research (WBVR) carries out diagnostics on horses, donkeys and mules. Tests are carried out on sick horses, as well as for export purposes.

We test for various diseases including taylorella equigenitalis (CEM), equine viral arteritis (EVA), equine infectious anaemia (EIA) and rhinopneumonie (EHV) and West Nile virus (WNV).

EAV and EHV tests back in-house

The diagnostic tests EAV VNT (EAV01, EAV03 and EAV06), the EAV VI (EAV02) and the EHV VNT (EHV01, EHV03) will again be performed in-house at Wageningen Bioveterinary Research as of 2 May 2025.

With effect from 2 May, it is again possible for Wageningen Bioveterinary Research to perform EAV VNT, the EAV VI and EHV VNT in-house. The tests were temporarily outsourced due to a problem with one of the reagents. That problem has now been solved, allowing us to perform the tests in-house again as before.
