Wageningen Environmental Research provides several maps and GIS-files.

Historic Topographic Maps

Wageningen Environmental Research can deliver scanned and georectified topographic maps:

  • Topographic Maps (1:25.000, 1950-1990)
    These scans are available for the years 1950, ’60, ’70, ’80 en ’90’s. The maps are scanned by the Topografische Dienst (Dutch Ornance Survey). The geometric correction to the RD-coordinate system is done by Wageningen Environmental Research.The ownership rights are held by the Dutch Cadastre.
  • Topographic Military Maps (1:50.000, circa 1850)These maps are made between 1836 and 1856 by officers of the Office for Military Reconnaissance with the aim to create a topographic map of the whole of the Netherlands. The maps are scanned and georectified in the Dutch RD coordinate system.
  • Chromotopographic Maps (1:25.000, 1875-1940 'Bonne-maps')These topografic maps are published between 1866 and 1951 by the Topographic Office of the Dutch army. The number of maps per mapsheet lies between 1 and 11. The maps have been scanned and georectified between 2001 and 2004.

    N.B. Ownership of the topographical substrate lies with the Land Registry (Kadaster).
