  • Field experiments & sensor calibration
  • Informative excursions

At the weather station ‘Veenkampen’ we measure the weather, air quality and soil properties. Veenkampen (2011 - now) is a continuation of the earlier Haarweg (1974 – 2012) and Duivendaal (1919 – 1974) stations. The facility is widely used for research and education.

What can you do at Veenkampen weather station?

Activities

The data measured at Veenkampen is open-access, and available in real-time. Together with the earlier sites Haarweg and Duivendaal sites, we have a long climate-record. The data is, and can be, used for a wide variety of applications within the Envrironmental domain, such as climate assessments or modelling studies.

The Veenkampen facility can be used by internal and external partners for short- and long-term field experiments and excursions. For example, the field site can be used to deploy (new) sensors, or calibrate sensors against our quality controlled observations. We host excursions for several BSc and MSc courses, as well as external institutes.

Who is The Veenkampen facility intended for?

For who

The facility is intended for internal Wageningen University chair groups with a link to weather, air quality, hydrology or soil science, and for external institutes and companies that want to deploy and/or calibrate (new) sensors.

“The Veenkampen is home to one of the longest meteorological records worldwide.”
