To provide insights into the effects of transformations at company and regional level, we help organisations use monitoring and evaluation to uncover the underlying relations and patterns of a transformation.This makes learning an integral part of this transformation.
Complex transformation processes require tailored forms of monitoring and evaluation. Our methods aim to foster systemic learning, understand the role of change agents and ensure accountability to those funding interventions. One of the methodologies we use is Reflexive Monitoring in Action (RMA). This is a proven method that stimulates multi-actor learning, collective reflection and institutional change during transformations. RMA helps to adapt working methods, relationships and rules, thereby achieving the desired progress.
We also use approaches to determine how change agents' strategies contribute to the results. For example, Narrative Assessment is particularly useful for critically assessing efforts in advocacy projects.
In addition, we use ex-post evaluations to determine the desired and undesired effects of a transformation process. We do this using a wide range of economic, social and sustainability indicators. Finally, we use proof-of-principle experiments to test the effectiveness of interventions before scaling them up.
