As an Executive Secretary, you will work within the Agrotechnology & Food Sciences Group (AFSG). You will gradually learn what we do as a knowledge unit within Wageningen University & Research (WUR). In any case, we are committed to sustainability in the areas of food, people, and society.

At AFSG, we believe that a strong executive secretariat forms the heart of the organization. We are looking for a new colleague who thinks along with us and looks ahead.

Your role at a glance

  • you primarily support the Director of Operations, but you also perform secretarial tasks for organization-wide activities, such as organizing the annual Christmas reception, New Year’s gathering, or a colleague’s farewell;
  • you provide administrative support, manage (complex) email and calendars, and prepare, organize, and document meetings;
  • you ensure that the right information is available at the right time and in the right place;
  • you are the first point of contact for various employees and external contacts;
  • you work closely with the Secretary to the Managing Director, who also leads the secretariat, and with the secretaries of the department heads. Together, you form the executive secretariat;
  • you replace the Secretary to the Managing Director during her absence.

Your qualities

  • you have at least MBO-4 (vocational) level of working and thinking (HBO level is an advantage);
  • you have extensive experience in an independent secretarial role within a complex organization;
  • you have a strong sense of prioritization and monitoring progress;
  • you work independently and collaborate well with fellow secretaries and colleagues from other (staff) departments;
  • you handle confidential information discreetly;
  • you can switch quickly and flexibly between different tasks and situations;
  • you communicate easily at different levels and have excellent command of Dutch and good command of English, both spoken and written.

In our international working environment there is an increasing amount of communication in English. For this position it is about language level B2.

WUR welcomes applications from international candidates. Such candidates may be eligible for an “orientationyear” in the Netherlands or a visa as a “knowledge migrant”. 

Please note, fluency in Dutch for this position is a must have. It is not possible to fulfill this position without having this skill.

In addition to these first-rate employee benefits, you will of course receive a good salary. We offer, depending on your experience, a competitive gross salary of between €2979,- and €3893,- for a full-time working week of 36 hours, in accordance with the CLA Wageningen Research (scale 7). Additionally, For this role a contract for 32 hours a week can be discussed. As for your contract, we initially offer a one-year contract that can be extended, if possible within (company) organizational circumstances, on good performance.
