Editor Project Output

Your job
This position is ideal for you if you're an experienced editor in Dutch and English, and have knowledge and interest in innovating the field using AI solutions. You enjoy collaboration, are proactive and innovative, and feel at home in an internationally oriented knowledge organization. You want your work to contribute to social impact and are good at inspiring people.
As a Project Output Editor at Wageningen Social and Economic Research, you will be responsible for editing research reports and other written project output (in Dutch and English). Because AI is playing an increasingly important role in this process, we are looking for someone with experience in this area who will further develop the role of this new technology in producing our output.
In this role, you will be part of the Project Management Group (PMG). Our team is one of WSER's 11 expertise teams. Together with the other expertise teams, we focus on a sustainable national and international market of governments, NGOs, and businesses with research products and advice. Our focus is on major societal issues: sustainable food clusters, food security, the biobased economy, energy, water, and climate. Sustainable economic development in an international setting is central to this. With our independent research, we offer clients guidance in making socially and strategically responsible choices.
With 23 Project Management professionals, PMG is developing into a center of expertise in effective acquisition and project management. Project communication and outreach are key specializations within the team. PMG consists of management officers and project managers who are primarily involved in projects that present additional challenges due to their size, structure, or social impact.
Job content
Wageningen Social & Economic Research publishes 250 to 300 scientific research reports for a wide range of clients—including national and international governments, businesses, small businesses—and society at large. Working closely with researchers and other colleagues, you will ensure high-quality publications: in correct Dutch and/or English, readable, and accessible. Due to developments in AI, a shift in focus in the output production process is likely. Your responsibilities in this role will therefore include:

- Review written project output for appealing and impactful structure and language.
- Visualize written project communication, in collaboration with colleagues or external parties.
- Use AI tools to improve the quality (type and word count) of written project output and the editorial process, working with our data security experts.
Your qualities
- You have an excellent command of both Dutch and English.
- You have completed a higher professional education (HBO/WO) degree in journalism, Dutch or English language and literature, or a comparable degree.
- You can write for various target groups, including national and international governments, businesses, small businesses, and society as a whole.
- You have at least 5 years of work experience in editing research reports and other research-related publications.
- You have experience using AI for project communication and editorial work.
- You are adept at working with tight deadlines and procedures, are adaptable, flexible, and service-oriented, but also able to maintain boundaries.
- You are aware of opportunities for improvement in output and the output process and know how to implement these changes in practice, together with committed colleagues.
- Experience with the agri-food sector, economic and/or social policy-oriented research is a plus.
