For our university sports center, we are currently looking for a 

Kickboxing Instructor

Your job 

As a kickboxing instructor, you will be responsible for teaching two 1.5-hour classes per week (Tuesdays from 8:30 PM to 10:00 PM and Thursdays from 8:00 PM to 9:30 PM). The classes are for members of the student martial arts association in Wageningen (WSBV de Grondleggers). In addition, the Thursday class is also open to non-members.

A few times a year, you will attend instructor meetings, continuing education sessions, We-Day, AID, and/or staff outings outside of your regular working hours.

The Sports Centre de Bongerd (SCB) at Wageningen University & Research (WUR) is responsible for the sports program for WUR students and staff. A total of 6,500 students and 900 staff members actively use the sports center, which is staffed by 45 specialized sports instructors and 9 management and administrative staff members. The SCB plays an initiating and active role in the implementation of the Vital@work health program. 

The sports center is located on the edge of the campus and serves as the home base for various student sports clubs. Due to the large number of international students and staff, the primary language on campus is largely English.

Your qualities

You are an active, self-motivated person, with competencies such as customer focus, teamwork, sociability, coaching, flexibility, and enthusiasm playing an important role.

You also have/are: 

  • A certification as a kickboxing instructor
  • Practical experience teaching kickboxing and/or other martial arts
  • You have a good command of the Dutch and English languages;

In addition to these first-rate employee benefits, you will of course receive a good salary. Depending
on your experience, we offer a competitive gross salary of between €3.382,- and €4.484,- for a full-time working week of 38 hours, in accordance with the Collective Labour Agreements for Dutch Universities (CAO-NU) (scale 8). This position is for 4,2 hours (3 lesson hours) As for your contract, we initially offer a one-year contract that can be extended - if possible within (company) organizational circumstances - on good performance.
