Are you independent, service-oriented, and comfortable working with people? Do you enjoy organizing, coordinating, and managing multiple tasks while being able to switch quickly between priorities? Then we may be looking for you as our new Management Office Assistant.
As an enthusiastic and self-reliant all-round Management Office Assistant, you will provide administrative and secretarial support to two staff departments within the Social Sciences Group of Wageningen University & Research: the Liaison Office (LO), which among other things provides legal support, and the Finance & Control (F&C) department.
As an all-round Management Office Assistant, you will:
- Schedule internal and external appointments for the staff departments and manage calendars in Outlook;
- Provide support with document management and data entry in HR and financial systems;
- Support research acquisition processes. In consultation with contract managers and grant advisors, this includes:
- Registering new acquisition opportunities in the acquisition management system;
- Coordinating the signing of contracts;
- Processing and archiving legal documentation and files;
- Managing correspondence with various internal stakeholders;
- Organize and take minutes during meetings, reserve meeting rooms, arrange catering, and coordinate other facilities as required;
- Manage orders and purchase order numbers for invoices;
- Coordinate practical aspects of recruitment and selection procedures and support new staff members during onboarding;
- Assist with internal communications through various internal communication channels.
About the organization
The Social Sciences Group is one of the five knowledge units of Wageningen University & Research. It consists of Wageningen Social & Economic Research (WSER) and the Department of Social Sciences, which includes 21 chair groups. These units are supported by four staff departments, employing approximately 90 staff members in total: Liaison Office (LO), Finance & Control (F&C), Marketing & Communication (M&C), and Human Resources (HR).
Your qualities
You are an all-round Management Office Assistant who enjoys organizing, coordinating, and supporting colleagues. You work independently, efficiently, and practically, with a strong focus on quality. Your collaborative and open attitude contributes to a positive working atmosphere.
To be successful in this role, you bring:
- MBO+ level of working and thinking;
- Extensive experience in an administrative, secretarial, or office support role;
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office and Microsoft Teams;
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to set priorities effectively;
- The ability to see connections, think ahead, and act flexibly and solution-oriented;
- A strong sense of responsibility, professionalism, and integrity;
- Good command of both Dutch and English, spoken and written.
In our international working environment there is an increasing amount of communication in English. For this position it is about language level C1 .

In addition to these first-rate employee benefits, you will of course receive a good salary. We offer, depending on your experience, a competitive gross salary of between €2,824.- and € 3.567.- for a full-time working week of 36 hours, in accordance with the CLA Wageningen Research (scale 6). This is a role for 32-34 hours. As for your contract, we initially offer a one-year contract that can be extended - if possible within (company) organizational circumstances - on good performance.
