Are you an experienced professional in online communication and marketing? Would you like to strengthen the online visibility of Wageningen University & Research (WUR)?
As an Online Coordinator, you advise chair groups on their online positioning, connect strategy with execution, and oversee the organisational layer of the website. You ensure a clear and consistent presentation of our organisation, our education and research, and contribute to the effective use of our online channels.
Your role
As an Online Coordinator, you shape the online positioning of chair groups and the organisational layer of the website. You ensure that pages are logically structured, strong in content, and aligned with WUR’s broader online vision and themes.
You are a confident sparring partner for the editors of the chair groups. You act as the central point of contact and help them present their research, education, and societal impact clearly and attractively online. At the same time, you safeguard coherence and quality at organisational level. You translate diverse needs and interests into clear choices and priorities.
You work closely with the central editorial team and the editors of the chair groups. Together, you manage and further develop the renewed website and key online channels. Within this team, you play a central role in maintaining the structure, quality, and positioning of the organisational layer.
What will you do?
- developing and implementing the online communication strategy for organisational and chair group pages;
- advising chair groups on strong, target group-oriented content;
- safeguarding the quality, structure, and coherence of the website;
- managing and further developing the organisational layer - the web pages through which we inform visitors about our organisation, education, and research;
- acting as a strategic adviser and point of contact for chair groups and communication contacts within the relevant organisational units;
- identifying bottlenecks, opportunities, and inconsistencies in content and positioning, and proactively addressing them;
- integrating and translating recent developments and innovations in online communication into the strategy;
- collaborating with coordinators, marketers, and editors to further develop the website.
Tasks:
- elaborating and executing the online communication strategy for the organisational layer and chair groups;
- advising on clear, target group-focused, and distinctive online content (text, imagery, video, infographics);
- analysing web performance (including via analytics) and implementing improvements;
- identifying and resolving bottlenecks in content, structure, and findability;
- supporting, advising, and training staff in creating and improving online content.
Your qualities
You have:
- at least a higher professional education (HBO) qualification in marketing or communication;
- at least 3 years’ experience as an online communication adviser/marketing communication adviser, preferably within a complex (educational) organisation;
- demonstrable experience in both developing and implementing online communication strategies;
- experience working with data and knowledge of analytics tools (such as Google Analytics);
- excellent command of Dutch (fluent spoken and written) and a good command of English;
- affinity with scientific organisations and societal themes.
You are a confident and persuasive adviser who easily engages with senior stakeholders. You understand how to operate in a complex administrative and academic environment and can bring together different interests into clear decisions. You combine strategic and conceptual thinking with a pragmatic, results-driven approach. You work in a structured way, maintain oversight, are proactive, and have a strong awareness of organisational dynamics. You also enjoy working collaboratively and strengthen the team with your energy and professionalism.

In addition to these excellent secondary benefits, we offer a competitive salary depending on your experience, ranging from a minimum of € 3,399.- to a maximum of € 5,478.- for a full-time (36-hour) working week, in accordance with the Wageningen Research CAO (scale 10). We offer a contract for 0.9 FTE.
Initially, we offer a one-year contract with the intention of converting it into a permanent contract. We are, of course, happy to discuss any questions you may have about this.
