Your job

As PhD Programme coordinator you will you contribute to supporting the PhD Programme of Graduate School Production Ecology and Resource Conservation (PE&RC).

Your duties and responsibilities include: 

  • support PhD candidates during the PhD process (e.g. introduction meetings, support in developing a training and supervision plan, confidential advice, progress evaluation);

  • help to organise and teach specific training activities related to the PhD process (e.g. PhD retreats);

  • organise courses, conferences / symposia and workshops from A to Z, including programme setup, communication, logistics and finances;

  • support in maintenance and development of the PE&RC website and social media;

  • support the PE&RC office with ad-hoc occurring tasks.

Your team

You will work with a team consisting of the PE&RC executive secretary, the head of the PE&RC PhD Programme, 3 colleague PhD Programme coordinators and two Management Office Assistants.

You will work here 

You will be part of the National Graduate Production Ecology and Resource Conservation (PE&RC), and member of the PE&RC Office Team, which is led by Prof. Bas Zwaan (Director PE&RC). You will be supervised by Dr. Claudius van de Vijver.

Your qualities

You Possess: 

  • a PhD or EngD degree;

  • experience in organising events (e.g. courses, workshops, symposia and/or conferences);

  • experience in teaching (didactical skills) and presenting;

  • flexibility (i.e. tasks responsibilities, workload);

You are:

  • a team player but can also work independently on assigned tasks;

  • willing to occasionally work outside regular working hours;

  • proactive and not afraid to take initiative;

  • fluent in both English and Dutch (spoken and written).

You also possess: 

  • affinity with the PE&RC research domain;

  • good communication skills;

  • good organisation skills.

In addition to these first-rate employee benefits, you will of course receive a good salary. Depending on your experience, we offer a competitive gross salary of between € 3,546,- and € 5,538,- for a full-time working week of 38 hours, in accordance with the Collective Labour Agreements for Dutch Universities (CAO-NU) (scale 10). As for your contract, we initially offer a one-year contract that can be extended - if possible within (company) organizational circumstances - on good performance.
