Your job
As a project leader, your enthusiasm and organisational skills strengthen our team in IJmuiden. For various complex or large-scale (research) projects within the field of Marine Research, you support the researcher or lead project manager in keeping their projects on track.
You will also advise project leaders during the acquisition process, drawing on sound knowledge of procedures and funding conditions. In addition to supporting acquisition efforts of the project leaders you work closely with, your responsibilities include monitoring the progress of acquisition trajectories (leads) and exploring acquisition opportunities across the full breadth of our organisation.
Your tasks and responsibilities as a project leader include:
- Supporting acquisition processes and monitoring acquisition opportunities;
- Together with the project leader/researcher, ensuring that projects are delivered within the set parameters for cost, quality, time, organisation and communication;
- Monitoring project progress and ensuring that agreements made with the client are met. This includes interim evaluations, identifying deviations in good time, thinking proactively and proposing solutions;
- Maintaining contacts with clients and/or third parties and coordinating internal staff, while also contributing to strengthening our relationships with customers;
- Ensuring project coordination and/or management of complex projects and organisational activities;
- Managing project archiving and documentation.
Your Team
You will be part of our Acquisition Support & Project Management team, which consists of eight colleagues who collaborate closely, both virtually and from our office in IJmuiden.
You will work in an international applied scientific environment (marine and freshwater ecology), where (field) data are collected and stored for use in analyses and complex models. The projects and programmes range from fieldwork and experimental research to data management and literature studies. This will give you broad insight into the policy-supporting research conducted across Wageningen Research.
Your qualities
You are proactive and results-oriented, enabling you to provide optimal support to our internal clients. You are also a team player with strong communication skills, allowing you to establish effective collaboration with colleagues and stakeholders.
In addition, you bring:
- A completed degree at a minimum of higher professional education (HBO) level in a field relevant to this position;
- Several years of experience in a project-based organisation and in providing organisational support for complex projects;
- Affinity with marine ecological issues, the ability to work independently as well as in a team, a willingness to learn, and the confidence to ask questions;
- Excellent command of Dutch and English (C1 level), both spoken and written.

We offer, depending on your experience, a competitive gross salary of between € 3.399,- and € 5.478,- for a full-time working week of 36 hours, in accordance with the CLA Wageningen Research (scale 10). Additionally, For this role a contract for 32 hours can be discussed. As for your contract, we initially offer a one-year contract that can be extended - if possible within (company) organizational circumstances - on good performance.
