Quality Policy Officer

A scientific research institute aims for high-quality work and results. Our quality policy helps us achieve the institute’s strategic goals: delivering products that have impact, meeting the needs of both existing and new clients, and managing risks and opportunities. Wageningen Social & Economic Research is ISO 9001:2015 certified. This ISO standard focuses on risk-based thinking and on identifying and, where possible, implementing improvements.

To ensure the quality of our research, we work according to various procedures and working agreements. We continuously work to professionalise and improve our processes, and we aim to achieve a high level of client satisfaction.

As a Quality Policy Officer, your tasks will include:

• checking, streamlining and keeping processes and procedures up to date, for example through internal audits. This includes processes related to our core activities and their connection with support departments;
• actively working with management and preparing proposals to improve processes and procedures;
• actively communicating about matters related to the quality policy;
• sending external client evaluations and internal project evaluations, and processing the results;
• preparing a draft management report;
• preparing for external audits, including organising them, preparing the content and making sure that follow-up actions are carried out. 

In this challenging role, you will also contribute to advising on and carrying out various projects related to quality and business operations. Examples include office accommodation projects or the implementation of new systems or procedures.

In addition, you will work with colleagues from other parts of Wageningen University & Research on quality-related topics. You may also take part in expert groups, where colleagues can share knowledge and learn from each other.

We are looking for a colleague with the following qualities and skills, who:

• thinks and works at bachelor level (HBO);
• has strong communication skills;
• preferably has knowledge of and an interest in quality management systems (ISO 9001:2015), or is willing to learn more about them;
• maintains the quality policy and provides management with advice, both when asked and on their own initiative;
• has a strong eye for detail and is able to analyze data and processes;
• is able to identify risks and develop improvement plans based on findings;
• is results-oriented and is good at bringing people together;
• has an excellent command of Dutch and at least B2-level English, both spoken and written;
• preferably has work experience in a research institute or a similar environment, such as a policy organization.

In addition to these first-rate employee benefits, you will of course receive a good salary. We offer, depending on your experience, a competitive gross salary of between €€3,640,- and €5,132,- for a full-time working week of 36 hours, in accordance with the CLA Wageningen Research (scale 9). For this role we offer a contract for 16 hours per week. We initially offer a one-year contract, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and depending on the organization’s financial situation.
