The art organisation Laboratory for Microclimates (LfM) realizes art and film projects around microclimates. A microclimate is a small area that is different from the surrounding area. With these projects they want to encourage people to change their own social and ecological environment.
Wageningen UR is concerned with the effects of climate change in urban areas. Think of higher temperatures, more wind, flooding, food supply chains and air quality. We are therefore looking for metropolitan solutions to make cities livable, healthy and circular.
For this, relevant knowledge from various disciplines, such as land use planning, landscape architecture, urban meteorology, environmental technology and environmental policy, are brought together, further developed and tested in practice. In line with this, attention is paid to the domain of Green Urban Planning and Design’.
In addition, Wageningen UR takes part in the Amsterdam Institute for Advanced Metropolitan Solutions (AMS) and the Delta Alliance, two cooperation initiatives active in the field of climate change and urban areas.
