ELS is one of the partners in Transforming Education for
Sustainable Futures (TESF) network. TESF is a multi-million pound GCRF-UK funded research programme that supports collaborative research to transform education in light of the UN's Agenda 2030 and the SDGs.

The programme specifically addresses the role of
education in climate action, decent work and sustainable cities. Cross-cutting themes such as poverty reduction, gender equity, ethics, inclusion, and indigenous knowledge provide contextual nuance to the research.

The objectives are threefold:

1. To synthesise and share existing and emerging knowledge about sustainable development concerns and actions, and how these shape the need for transformative education system change
2. To co-produce the evidence and arguments urgently needed to transform education and training systems so that they contribute meaningfully to socially and environmentally just development
3. To develop a network of researchers in universities, NGOs, government departments, social movements and Community Based Organisations with the capacity to undertake innovative, engaged, transdisciplinary and impactful research facilitated through the work of four national hubs in India, Rwanda, Somalia/Somaliland and South Africa
