Tuition Fees

Payment of the tuition fee is one of the enrolment conditions. On this page you can find information on the amount of tuition fees you have to pay. How you would like to pay can be indicated via Studielink.

Are you a European student*?

Your tuition fee for the academic year 2021-2022 is €1084. Are you a first year bachelor's student and you have not previously been enrolled in a degree’s programme at a university financed by the Dutch government, then your tuition fee is only €542. When you pay your tuition fee in 5 equal payments the payments will be debited on September 27, October 25, December 23, 2021 and February 25 and April 25, 2022.

Your tuition fee for the academic year 2022-2023 is €2209. Are you a
first year bachelor's student and you have not previously been enrolled
in a degree’s programme at a university financed by the Dutch
government, then your tuition fee is only €1105. When you pay your tuition fee in 5 equal payments the payments will be debited on September 27, October 25, December 23, 2022 and February 27 and April 25, 2023.

*Students from NL/EEA/SME1 countries pay statutory tuition fees as indicated above.

Are you a non-EU student**?

Note: These tuition fees are not approved yet and are subject to change. The same applies to the amount mentioned in the exceptions and the overviews.

And studying in a bachelor's programme?

- Then your tuition fee for the academic year 2021-2022 is €14.616.

- Then your tuition fee for the academic year 2022-2023 is €15.700.

And studying in a master's programme? 

- Then your tuition fee for the academic year 2021-2022 is €17.616 (cohort 2021, 2020, 2019, 2018).

- Then your tuition fee for the academic year 2022-2023 is €18.700

**Students from non-NL/EEA/SME1 countries pay institutional tuition fee 3 as indicated above.

Exceptions

Are you studying a second bachelor's or master's programme?

The amount of tuition fee 2021-2022 for a second (online) master's programme is €12.166 for NL/EEA/SME1 students (institutional tuition fee 2). Non-NL/EEA/SME1 students pay institutional tuition fee 3 for a second master's (€17.616).

The amount of tuition fee 2022-2023 for a second (online) master's programme is €13.250 for NL/EEA/SME1 students (institutional tuition fee 2). Non-NL/EEA/SME1 students pay institutional tuition fee 3 for a second master's (€18.700).

Note:
if your enrolment for the first master's overlaps with your second
master's for at least one month (or more), you do not need to pay the
institutional tuition fee 2. Then either the statutory fee or
institutional tuition fee 3 applies to you.

NL/EEA/SME1 students who take part in a part-time online master's programme 2021-2022 as a second master's pay €6.691. Non-NL/EEA/SME1 students who take part in a part-time online master's programme pay institutional tuition fee 3 (€9.689).

NL/EEA/SME1 students who take part in a part-time online master's programme 2022-2023 as a second master's pay €7.290. Non-NL/EEA/SME1 students who take part in a part-time online master's programme pay institutional tuition fee 3 (€10.285).

Do
you start your second master's and does it overlap for at least 1 month
with your enrolment in your first master's, then you will pay statutory
tuition fee as a NL/EEA/SME1 student. As a non-NL/EEA/SME1 student with
both the first and second master's at WUR you do not have to pay
tuition fees for the 2nd master's as long as you are not finished with
your 1st master's. After graduation in the first master's you will pay
institutional tuition fee 3 for the second master's.

Are you studying a part-time online master's programme?

As a NL/EEA/SME1 student you will pay €1084 for 2021-2022. If this is your second master's programme you will pay €6.691 as a NL/EEA/SME1 student. As a non-NL/EEA/SME1 student

As a NL/EEA/SME1 student you will pay €2209 for 2022-2023. If this is your second master's programme you will pay €7.290 as a NL/EEA/SME1 student. As a non-NL/EEA/SME1 student

Are you studying a premaster?

Academic year 2021-2022: As a NL/EEA/SME1 student you will pay €18,07 per European Credit (EC). As a non-NL/EEA/SME1 student you will pay €293,60 per European Credit (EC).

Academic year 2022-2023: As a NL/EEA/SME1 student you will pay €36,82 per European Credit (EC). As a non-NL/EEA/SME1 student you will pay €312 per European Credit (EC).

Are you studying the Joint Degree Master Water Technology?

As a non-NL/EEA/SME1 student you pay the lowest
institutional tuition fee of the participating universities. You will
pay €15.166 for the academic year 2021-2022. The same applies if you
started your studies in the cohort 2019 or 2020. If you started in 2018
or before you need to pay €13.916 for the academic year 2021-2022.

Is this your second master and are you a NL/EEA/SME1 student? You need to pay €12.166.

The fee for 2022-2023 still need to be determined.

Are you a contract student?

You will pay €312 per European Credit (EC). As a alumni of WUR you will pay €128 per European Credit (EC). More information can be found on this page.
