2. Verification of your pre-education

You have been admitted to one of our master's programmes. Your admission was based on the documents you have uploaded in the application portal. To officially enrol you we require certified documents of your pre-education in hard copy.  The following certified copies* must be sent to Wageningen University & Research:

Note: A certified statement of graduation is also accepted (if you have not received your official diploma yet) please use the following format:

We will however require to see the original diploma when you have obtained it.

Deadlines for supplying these documents:

  • September intake: August 31 (your graduation date must be before September 1).
  • February intake: January 31 (your graduation date must be before February 1).

* What is a certified copy?

A certified copy is a duplicate of the original document which is (after making a hard copy) affixed with an original stamp/seal and signature by the issuing institution. Just a regular photo-copy of a certified copy with no original stamp/signature is not certified and will NOT be accepted. Certification of a document can be done by the institution you gained the degree from or by an authorised person like a solicitor or notary.

You can bring these documents to the student desk (Forum building) or alternatively send these documents to:

3. Verification of your identity

If you are not living in the Netherlands and you therefore have no DigiD, you applied via Studielink using the option “log in without DigiD’.

In this case, your identity has to be verified by Wageningen University & Research. In order to make that possible for us, you should upload a copy of your valid passport or European Identity card via the application portal. This is the same portal you use for uploading your diploma and transcript in order to gain admission to the programme. If you already uploaded your passport or European Identity card during your application process, you don’t need to upload it again.

4. Housing

Wageningen University & Research has a large community of students. Finding a room in Wageningen or the surrounding area is not always easy. Most students in Wageningen rent a room through Idealis (the main student housing cooperation in Wageningen), but you can also choose to search for a room yourself through other channels.

If you live further away than 130 km from Wageningen, you can get priority at Idealis. As a prospective student at Wageningen University & Research you can register and apply for rooms at Idealis via ROOM.nl. Note: it is very important that you pay your tuition fee at Wageningen University & Research on time! Only after you paid your tuition fee, you can apply for a room with priority based on your home address. All information about how to arrange your accommodation can be find here.

5. Annual Introduction Days

We strongly recommend you to participate in the Annual Introduction Days (AID) that are organised by students of Wageningen University & Research. It is the best start to your studies. Every year, around 95% of all new students participate in the AID.

In the AID you will be placed in a group of 10 students and you will be guided by two mentors (your AID 'moms and dads'). They will take you all around Wageningen. Lots of groups stay in contact after the AID! During the AID, you will get to know the University, your fellow students, all the student organisations, student fellowships, the city and all that Wageningen has to offer. During the AID there are many activities for you to quickly feel at home in Wageningen.

Get inspired by the after movie of AID 2019!
