I am Expertise leader Postharvest Physiology in the Postharvest Technology group at Wageningen Food and Biobased Research Institute, working on the exciting intersection of biology and technology. My personal drive is to generate practical impact with my work, both using state-of the art technologies and developments, as wel as using our knowledge to improve postharvest management in emerging economies.

Our mission is to sustainably feed the world, and I am convinced that optimising postharvest management of fruits and vegetables also helps to reduce climate change and biodiversity loss by minimising both food loss and waste as wel as energy use.
