Wageningen Young Academy is proud to welcome Dr. Peter Kuipers Munneke for our semi-annual WYA Big Speaker Event to speak about “Why is communicating climate science so hard?”. Dr. Kuipers Munneke is a man with many hats: on the one had he is a fundamental scientist, investigating ice sheet formation on the poles. On the other hand, he is a weather celebrity in The Netherlands, presenting the daily weather forecast on the NOS. In each of these positions, Dr. Kuipers Munneke observes and investigates the effects of climate change on a nearly daily basis. But, how does one communicate the complexities of climate change from these different perspectives to diverse audiences? Dr. Kuipers Munneke will share his experiences and views on communicating climate science.
