  • Artist/group: Malac Banda
  • Genre: Roma and Hungarian folk music
  • Short bio/information about the act: We are Malac Banda, a Wageningen student orchestra that has been playing Roma and Hungarian folk music since 1964. Every year, old members leave and new people join. At this lunch concert, there are eight of us: two guitarists, two cellists, an accordionist, a pianist, a bassist, and a cymbalist. The cymbal is a traditional Hungarian instrument that represents the origins of our band.

About the lunch concerts

About the lunch concerts

Every Tuesday from 12:30 to 13:30 we invite you to enjoy a lunch concert or performance on Wageningen Campus: a moment to come together, relax, and be inspired by live music or dance.

The lunch concerts are meaningful because they:

  • connect – students, staff, and visitors meet in an informal setting
  • surprise – each week features a different artist and genre
  • celebrate diversity – both professional performers and students share the stage
  • energize – a performance in the middle of the day brings inspiration and a fresh perspective

This creates a varied series where no week is the same.
