Sessions, papers & posters
We deadline for session-, paper-, and poster submissions has passed, the submission process is closed. We are grateful for the overwhelming response and the large number of submissions we have received. Due to this high volume and the extension of the submission deadline, we have to postpone the notification date.
We appreciate your patience and understanding as we carefully review each submission.
We will notify you as soon as possible.
Submission information
Sessions, papers, and posters will be organised according to four themes (see Homepage or scroll below). The sessions will be held in parallel (with approx. 2 to 3 parallel sessions). As an individual you can submit a maximum of 2 abstracts and 1 session in total.
Sessions proposals
We are inviting proposals for a diversity of session designs and formats (i.e. fish bowls, panels, discussion groups, outside walking sessions etc.) in addition to paper- or poster presentations.
Innovative Sessions
Proposals for innovative sessions should include:
• Organiser(s) name and affiliation
• Organiser(s) email address for correspondence
• The conference theme to which the paper relates
• A brief (max one A4 page or 500 words) session abstract
• The proposed format of the session
• 5 keywords representing the main content
Paper based sessions
For paper based sessions, the proposal can include some ‘open slots’ for paper abstracts. Paper-based session proposals should also include:
• Author(s) name and affiliation
• Author(s) email address for correspondence
• The conference theme to which the session relates
• The proposed paper titles and abstracts to be included in the session
• 5 keywords representing the main content
• A document containing a brief (max one A4 page or 500 words) session abstract and paper abstracts (max. 350 words in length)
Please do not use abbreviations or cite references in the abstract
Paper & poster abstracts
Abstracts should clearly state:
• Author(s) name and affiliation
• Author(s) email address for correspondence
• The conference theme to which the session relates
• 5 keywords representing the main content
• Abstracts should be less than 350 words in length

We ask that you submit an abstract and/or session proposal that is aligned with one of these themes. For more details and specifics about the main conference themes (above) please see the conference homepage, where more content and context is provided.
What we are looking for?
We particularly welcome and will prioritise sessions, papers and posters with the following ingredients:

• Inter- and trans-disciplinary approaches from different social sciences and with collaborations between social and natural or public health scientists
• Empirical and/or theoretical contributions
• North-south collaborations
• Presentations of reflective debates engaging with and in partnerships with stakeholders (public & private domains)
• Knowledge creation and mobilisation
• Ideas for innovative sessions (beyond the classic paper and poster presentations and panels, this could be field trips, outdoors activities, walking sessions, games, and debates etc.)
