Deltas in the Anthropocene

In the Anthropocene, the human-impacted era, deltas are affected by changing land use, damming of rivers, engineering of coasts, urbanization and land subsidence. When we understand the underlying processes, we can better prepare for the future.
We aim to:
- Understand the interactions between sea, river and groundwater
- Assess the impact of climate change, sea level rise and water management on the gain and loss of land
- Measure and simulate the dynamics of marine sediments and pollutants
- Quantify salt intrusion in rivers and groundwater
