At the WUR Library, there’s always space to concentrate and achieve your best. From dedicated group work areas to peaceful corners for individual study, you’ll find an environment designed to support your success.

At the heart of Forum, the Grand Café is an ideal spot to meet friends, enjoy a freshly prepared lunch and soak up the vibrant yet comfortable atmosphere.

City of life sciences

Friendly and vibrant, Wageningen is a city defined by its welcoming character and lively café culture. At its heart lies Wageningen University & Research, alongside other prominent institutes, driving forward innovation in food, health and sustainability. It is this spirit of discovery that has made Wageningen the City of Life Sciences.

City of Liberation
In 1945, Wageningen became the setting for a defining moment in Dutch history, as the German surrender was signed here. The city honours this legacy each year with a day of remembrance on 4 May, followed by nationwide celebrations on 5 May, including the vibrant Liberation Festival.

The weekly market in Wageningen, also known as the “Wageningen Market”, is a popular tradition in the city. The market takes place every Wednesday and Saturday at De Markt. Besides picking up affordable vegetables, fruit, flowers, bread and other goods, you’ll also find cosy pubs around the market.

Green city

Wageningen is a truly green city. In Torckpark, you can enjoy sunshine, open lawns and a relaxed atmosphere, with regular festivals and cultural events bringing the park to life. The surrounding Wageningen woods are perfect for a walk, a cycle or an outdoor workout. And on the slopes of the Wageningen Berg, Belmonte Arboretum offers a peaceful botanical garden filled with remarkable plants and sweeping views.
