Teaching more efficiently and creatively with generative AI

In this practical workshop, you will build, create and innovate with various generative AI models. We work step by step: we start with text and then move on to audio and video. You will practise with refined prompts, learn how each model responds and discover how to use GenAI for multimodal course material. We will conclude with a brief introduction to vibe coding – a playful way to explore new ideas with AI. The workshop lasts 3 hours.

What will be covered?

• How can AI help you as a teacher? 
  Discover for which tasks you can use AI and how it can help you save time. From planning your classes to generating ideas for class activities and developing course materials.
• Smart prompts 
  You will improve your prompt skills and learn how to achieve better and more focused results with each model.
• Comparing models
  You will try Copilot and other models like ChatGPT, and Claude, observe the differences in style and application, and learn how to choose the right tool for your purpose.
• From idea to audio and video 
  You will experiment with AI tools to turn texts and ideas into audio clips or short videos for your classes.
• Designing multimodal course material 
  You will combine text, images and sound to create inspiring course material to suit different learning styles.
• Creating an app using vibe coding 
  Finally, we will also dive into the world of vibe coding: coding without programming. We will offer a short, creative exploration of how you can use prompts to create apps to go the extra mile in your classes.

Having completed this workshop, you will: 

• have worked with different AI tools and know which one best suits your teaching ideas and teaching style
• know how to use AI to create efficient and creative course material
• take away concrete examples and inspiration to experiment further in your own teaching straight away.

For teachers and lecturers who are already familiar with generative AI and want to deepen their knowledge. This workshop is ideal for those who have already mastered the basics and want to learn to build, create and innovate with AI in educational practice. 

If you completed our Basic Generative AI Skills workshop, you have sufficient prior knowledge to participate. Did you gain experience with GenAI elsewhere and are you unsure whether this workshop fits your current level? Please contact us, and we will gladly advise you.

All workshops are in Dutch and will take place at our location: Forum, Wageningen Campus.

• WUR staff (10% discount): € 405,-

Please contact our Tailor-made Department to discuss your needs. During an intake interview, we will determine what is desirable and feasible and we will discuss the approach and design of our offer, from a coaching programme to a short workshop or multi-day course. 

You can take a tailor-made course in a small group with your team or department, but also one-on-one. Courses take place at our premises or in-company. In some cases, some or all of the course can also take place online. After the intake interview, you will receive an offer with a tailor-made programme.
