Sports Centre de Bongerd (building 130) is the meeting place for students and employees to play sports on Wageningen Campus.

About De Bongerd

In the early 1970s, Wageningen University moved into the current De Bongerd Sports Centre site. After integrating with Wageningen Research in 1998, the sports facility was made accessible to all students and staff of WUR and other organizations on Wageningen Campus.

In 2012, the building was expanded and covered with larch wood. This doubled the fitness facilities and created two additional sports halls. The grounds also underwent several changes. For example, the cinder track was replaced in 2006 with a blue synthetic athletics track. Sports Centre de Bongerd literally keeps moving to meet the needs of (growing numbers of) athletes. This ranges from coaching elite athletes to providing space for new sports, such as quidditch, a game inspired by the Harry Potter films.
