EGE (Erne) Blondeau MSc
WR OnderzoekerI am working as a researcher on soil and emissions at the Sustainable Soil Use group of Wageningen Environmental Research. Here I participate in experimental projects on N2O and NH3 emissions from the soil, and how these are affected by management practices such as fertilization or groundwater level control.
In my PhD research project at the soil biology group (SBL), I studied the underlying processes behind peat oxidation and the effects of management strategies on greenhouse gas emissions from peat meadows. The project involves experiments on the lab and field scales, studying the effects of groundwater level, soil moisture content, fertilizer application and cattle grazing on greenhouse gas emissions from peat soils. This PhD project is part of the NWO research program on land subsidence in the Netherlands, Living on Soft Soils (LOSS, www.nwa-loss.nl).
I have a background in Environmental Sciences, with a BSc at Utrecht Unversity and MSc at Gothenburg University. My main interest lies in the impacts of land use on the climate and environment.
