Jackeline was born and raised in Carambeí, a Dutch agricultural colony in the south of Brazil. She completed her Veterinary degree in 2007 in Curitiba, Brazil. After that, she worked on a sow farm in the Netherlands for three years, where she had the opportunity to learn more about the swine sector in Europe. During this time, she followed relevant training and courses in pig husbandry, nutrition, and reproduction. In 2013, Jackeline obtained her MSc degree in Animal Nutrition at Wageningen University. This specialization provided her with the opportunity to start her career as a swine researcher at De Heus Animal Nutrition, where she is still employed. Her research focuses on the nutrition, health, and management of sows. In 2023, she started her Ph.D. at Wageningen University, a collaboration project between De Heus Animal Nutrition and Wageningen - Adaptation Physiology Group. Her project focus on the nutrition of hyperprolific sows during the transition period.
