In-home testing for quality of pet foods

There is a growing interest in in-home testing of pet food quality aspects like digestibility and palatability. As current used protocols lack a scientific basis, this project aims to gain understanding of the protocol requirements. During this project insight will be gained in factors that may impact the outcomes of an in-home pet food quality assessment, such as the subject characteristics, the test environment and the presence of the pet owner. These outcomes will give insight in required protocol aspects such as the study length and the number of animals. Studies are conducted with both dogs and cats, including digestibility and palatability testing.
